Of course, I’m fantastically late to the party with this. I still have fond memories of Muse from Patrick blasting them out of tinny plastic speakers when we lived in Tipperary back in 2005 :) Funnily enough though, this song and Time Is Running Out are the only Muse songs I like. Strong memories of a band usually make me love them indefinitely, as is the case of John Denver, Green Day and audiobooks in general.

This is, of course, Neutron Star Collision by Muse.

I’m back though, there shouldn’t be too many distractions, for the next month or so anyway. Speaking of which, it’s August? Seriously? Time flies, wow – getting a mental picture of a runaway train named ‘summer’ running wild down the track to a bridge with TNT on it marked ‘back to school’!

Speaking of trains (wahey, these connections are practically making themselves!) – I saw Toy Story 3 yesterday with friends. It was fantastic and I definitely recommend going. Full review to come, but seriously — if you find yourself with nothing to do over the bank holiday, go see that awesome film.

Going to see Playboy of the Western World tonight in Limerick, which should be good!

I think memories are funny things – you associate them with the funniest things. I can’t listen to Panic! or the soundtrack to Chess without being back in the plaster cast or being in the guest bedroom, because that’s where I first heard them :)

….Violet Femmes’ eponymous album blared from Ricky’s stereo system, if you could call it blaring; his stereo was one of those Radio Shack cheapies with the tiny simulated-wood speakers, and everything that came out of it sounded pretty thin and sad, but we didn’t care.
I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record, Gordon Gano, the Femmes’ lead singer sang.
