Cons

The thing about Cerebral Palsy (CP) is that it’s limiting. You have to watch what you do and how you do it. It’s something that you have to stay on top or it because it’s a slippery slope if you develop bad habits with the way you sit or something equally mundane. On the whole, [...]

And it’s beginning to…

The future, of sorts

It’s interesting to watch people move into a new area. I use ‘move into’ in the loose sense of the word — in essence, we’ve moved into Minneapolis here. You have to walk around and find the good restaurants (The News Room) or the good place for a quick coffee (Panera) as well as the [...]

#progress

Progressed onto crutches today, which means that I can retire the oldman Zimmer frame and even the wheelchair. 6 week X-Rays on Tuesday next (expect Twitpics) and then a meeting with the surgeon. Weather here still sunny but cold. No snow forecasted yet though :(

Status

I’ve been talking about a lot of different stuff recently and since this is a personal blog at its core, I thought I should stick up a quick update about how I’m doing here in Minneapolis. It doesn’t exactly show it, but that’s Minneapolis while it’s snowing. Better pics if/when I get ‘em. I’ve been [...]

JustAnotherTrnd

Something a little different on the blog today — a guest post by JustAnotherTrnd, a twitter account of two therapy dogs called Dusty and Hurley. With the help of a scribe, Shari, they provide a very fun & caring atmosphere on twitter and would often see how I was feeling each morning while I was [...]

New Facebook movie doesn’t Zuck

I submitted an interview request to Mark Zuckerberg, hopefully that goes somewhere… The Social Network. Let’s be frank, we all had our doubts about the entertainment value of a movie detailing the early days of a website. As it happens though, with juicy lawsuits and a killer script, you can make a phenomenal flick. Some [...]

Progress

That’s a neat little engineering feat in one of the hospital coffee shops. I went back into the hospital for my 3-week-post-op checkup with the surgeon, to have x-rays taken and to begin the physio regime that’ll have me to 100% over the next couple of weeks. The surgeon was very pleased with my progress [...]

Shibboleet

In Friday’s XKCD comic, a geeky customer care representative tells the customer to quote the word ‘Shibboleet’ on future calls to get through to someone who knows something about the problem. The word ‘Shibboleet’ is not, as many (myself included) people thought, a made-up word. In his usual, borderline compulsive manner, the author of the [...]

Belated MusicSunday

Spent the day travelling yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to post here. I spend my last weekend in Ireland for 6 weeks with friends though. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. :) Suffragette City – David Bowie I’m off to India America on Friday for further surgery. This should be the last of it for some [...]
