Quick Twitter Survey

by Tommy

Asked this quick question on Twitter earlier and evaluated the results below:

If you could only have 2 apps on your iPhone/iPod Touch, which would you choose?

Not including the already-there ones like Clock, iPod, Maps and the like..

– 13 @replies
– 26 apps named

Quick Twitter Survey

I suppose asking people on Twitter made the results slightly more biased (i.e. it’s likely people on Twitter will mention Twitter clients) but the only way I can foresee a completely fair test is to ask people on the street. I don’t think that iPhones are prevalent enough for me to get many answers without putting in an awful lot of time though. Neat little experiment though.

On a slightly related note (but something that didn’t prompt this post), the Twitter client that I use, previously called “Tweetie 2″ was bought by Twitter itself recently and has become just simply “Twitter”, with a new logo and some User Interface clean-ups. It’s a neat app and has everything you’d ever want, feature-wise. My only criticism would be that the interface is grand, but nothing special – I really adore Twitteriffic and Twinkle, before its developers lost interest and it got crap.

My answers to the above question would probably be Twitter (as it’s now called) and Sleep Cycle. The app is worth the 79c it costs because it wakes you gently, which eliminates the jolt awake and subsequent tiredness that I’d feel if I was woken up by Mum, Dad or the iPhone Alarm. Instead I feel well rested; just as if I was waking up 2 hours later on a weekend. The graphs it makes are nice but, let’s face it, essentially useless. They’re like paintings – serve no purpose other than providing something to look at. App Store Link.

So what’s your answer to the above question? What are your 2 apps you’d choose if you could have no others? If I get many responses I’ll adjust the graph above accordingly :)
