Struggles

by Tommy

I’ve just spent the best part of two hours trying to get my internet back working, which has been on the blink for the best part of 2 days. I don;t even know if this will publish properly when I ask it (nicely) to. If you’re reading this, excellent, it’s still working for now.

It annoys me when the net goes on the fritz because not only am I not able to check email, Twitter, blogs and other such online stuff, but it serves as a sobering reminder about how much time I spend online.

Sure, some of it isn’t strictly time-wasting, but I tend to find that the amount of time I spend writing blogposts, uploading 365s and such is an embarrassingly small percentage of my internet time per day. The majority of the time is checking things for the umpteenth time or waiting for something to happen.

And so, from now on I’m going to try and cut down on what I’ll call my Useless Yet Appropriately Capitalized Internet Time. Blogging and 365ing and tweeting and some Facebooking are grand but I’m gonna try and cut down on the crummy irrelevant parts of the net.

Starting now.

Ironic how I blog about it, though, isn’t it?
