Coincidence
by Tommy
I was talking with a friend of mine who I met at the Young Scientist this year about how close we’d become over the last 3 months and how much we enjoyed each other’s company.
We were talking also about how coincidentally we had met – she knew someone in the competition that I knew too and that’s how we were introduced.
Life’s not really fair if your best friends are introduced like that – she could just as easily not have come up to my stall back in January and we wouldn’t have had the awesome times in the intervening months. Life shouldn’t be like that – it shouldn’t be that easy to miss the opportunity to become such great friends. Life should be nice to us and nudge us closer together and allow us to spend the maximum amount of time with each other. Annoyingly, it doesn’t.
Life’s unfair like that, which is why I’m so appreciative that we are all friends. There’s some remark about the fragility of life in general here somewhere…
