Organization
by Tommy
If one were to make a list of important things in life, this’d come…. pretty damn high up.
Without making this post sound too much like something you’d find in a chapter of 7 Highly Effective Habits.. (read: preachy), I think everyone should use a calendar of some sort.
It’s common sense – someone who’s busy (as I tend to be – I’m just involved in a lot of different stuff) can’t be trusted (hehe) to remember what’s going on when and more than once I’ve organized something for one day and forgotten that I’d agreed to do xyz at the same time.
Before realizing that iCal on my Mac would automagically copy over new events to my iPhone and vice versa (meaning that I only had to plug in my phone to make the calendar on the phone and iCal have all the same events), I had experimented with John’s old white board.
Inspired by House M.D. in no small part (I’d wager), John had bought a white board when he was studying for the auld Leaving Cert to organize his studies. He didn’t bring it with him to college and along with everything he left behind, I claimed the white board as my own but found it far too easy & entertaining to just doodle at the edges which wasn’t conducive to organizing myself.
In short, organization = good, double booking yourself != good.
