Earphones

Sitting here in the swimming pool, I’m 40 minutes early, but that’s just the way it worked out. No matter, I’ve got my iPhone and a working earphone. A working earphone, Tommy? I hear you wonder. I thought they only came in pairs! So did I, but when I found out I’d be waiting at [...]

Sport

I want to care. I don’t mind what it is, golf, GAA, hurling, football, heck, I’ll take horseback water polo if it gets me passionate. What? there isn’t a horseback water polo? Well then there’s your problem! How am I meant to love a sport that you haven’t had the good grace to invent yet? [...]

Ooopsie

I kind of, erm, slept in this morning, thinking that John would come into my room and wake me before he went. I got no such wake up call, instead waking at 12:01 and immediately thinking Craaaaaaaaaap So now I’m slowly trying to adjust to the thought process/mind set of being an only child. This [...]

Film Review :: About a Boy

At the risk of encroaching on Charles’ territory, I’d like to review a film I watched last night. I watched About A Boy, a 2002 film based on a book by Nick Hornby (I intend to track down the book) starring Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult as a 38 year old carefree bachelor and an [...]

Adventures in Training

Yesterday saw me mosey onto an abominably early train to go meet a friend of mine in Dublin. I love trains. You get all sorts of people on trains. Big folks, little folks, folks that climb- have I made this joke recently? The point still stands, though, that you get a diverse group of people [...]

Music Friday

Music Friday… has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? No? Whatever, take a listen :) The picture is of the author, Badly Drawn Boy, which is the stage name of Damon Gough. Unusually, Gough did the entire of the About a Boy soundtrack, a movie I’m gonna check out.

App Review :: Card Shark Solitaire

Random urge to review this iPhone app. Perhaps this will become a regular occurrence, perhaps not. Who knows, at least my last entry on apps was well received. We’ll see, son. Card Shark Solitaire (free) iTunes Link (will open in iTunes) All iPhone apps, none more so than games, are, or at least should be, [...]

Tolerance, where arth thou?

This was found in a thread on a forum I joined a few years back, but I rarely post these days. The post was found in a thread asking what was wrong with today’s youth: It’s good to see unconditional love so strong. Speaking of unconditional love, do we think it exists? I mean, this [...]

Em, fail?

You’d think Apple would teach Safari these sort of words, wouldn’t you? Or maybe since the browser dictionary is most likely based off the inbuilt dictionary on the computer, couldn’t Apple sneakily slide the Apple words (iPod, iPhone etc.) into that book?

Standing: Allowed if you’re Passionate

Although my blog allows anyone to comment freely, and it appears immediately on the site, not every blog does this. This is called comment moderation, and there are three main styles of it: Group 1: Like mine, blogs that have no moderation in place Group 2: Blogs that require your first comment to be approved [...]
