The Problem with Personal Blogs
by Tommy
The great thing about news blogs is that there’s always something happening. There’s big things, like Russia annexing another country, another bank going under, or Victoria Beckham picking her nose, to small things, like, I don’t know.. the Leaving Cert :)
Yes, there’s always something news-worthy (broadest term ever, as evidenced above) to be writing about in news blogs. Big news, little news, news that climbs on rocks. fat news, skinny news, even news with chicken pox!
The problem with personal blogs, however, is that for the author to be able to write about something, there has to be something to be written upon. Just like cars, personal blog authors require an input to give you output. Petrol goes in, motion energy comes out, we all remember first year science, learning about energy, and that all important creed:
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it merely changes from one form of energy to another
For authors, to get an output (blogpost), you need a suitable input (something to write upon).
Wouldn’t it be so much simpler if we ran on petrol like planes trains and automobiles?
This blogger says: yes!
As authors of personal blogs, the onus is on us to have interesting lives to be able to provide consequentially interesting blogposts. It’s a hard life… :)
So yeah, I just cured my writer’s block by writing about writer’s block. Neat!
