Eclecticism

by Tommy

People think that CP is the only thing I suffer from – I’m afraid it’s not.

This is a little known condition. I’ve had it a few years, I don’t even think my parents know I have it. It’s kind of an embarrassing condition, so talking about it can be difficult.. but I think I’m strong enough to finally talk about it.

Hmmm, I think that’s about as much suspense as I can get out of it…

I have pre-eclampsia.

No, wait, that’s not it. It’s eclecticism.

Like most cases of eclecticism, it only hits particular parts of my lifestyle.

In this case, my music tastes.

Eclecticism, in case you didn’t know, means: deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources

I’ve always been mad about music. Ever since I started using Mac, over 6 years ago, iTunes was the most important program for me. For a long time, my main source of music was John’s music library. We’d share music, and in general, most of the stuff he liked would be fine by me.

As I got older though, my music tastes became a lot different to his. I only like very specific types of music and me liking a particular song in no way guarantees me liking an entire album – this is normal though right?

That’s my iTunes top played – as you can see, there’s a lot of different stuff.

Anthem Pt. 2 by Blink 182 is a song I listen to while doing exercises, I always have it on repeat, which explains the play count. The Saints Are Coming is a song I used to drum to, so that would have a big play count.
