Cheers, Tommy.

Only spotted your link now. My blog has been sorely neglected over the last while for business reasons.

Twittering is what it is - Documenting your life in SMS. Texts sent to the web. (If I tweet from my phone, I compose an SMS and send it to my "Twitter" contact. 140 characters makes it easy to have 500 tweets. If you compared the number of words in all your blog posts versus your number of tweets (assuming you started both on the same day), then you would be comparing like with like. i.e. word counts! :-)

I agree with Eric, I think twitter serves a different purpose to blogging. Blogging is (or should be) essay format, essentially, whereas twitter is for dissemination of concentrated bursts of information.

If anything twitter might help to refine what people "blog" about to some extent, as it gets those random thoughts that aren't really worth writing a post about out there.

For me it's comparing apples to oranges. The goals for each are different. (Aren't they?)
