Ton of homework to do. :(

Tried to get my haircut, but must wait for tomorrow.
Decided to dig into my “unheard of” playlist today. Full of Zutons, Wolfmother and licks from that drum CD I bought.
P & I worked out an agreement, I’m allowed torrent if I stay below 500 MBs a month, or else there’s €50 penalty. Seems fair ‘cos all I’m gonna be downloading are musical soundtracks.
Waiting for Liv to come. P’s coming swimming with us too. I’ve become a lot better than the last time. Better endurance and much faster should make for interesting races! >:)
Made dinner for J, resisting the urge to do as threatened and add poison to it, I had washing-up liquid but I decided against it.
Looking forward to Mid-Term, perfect excuse to spend 12 hours drumming. Think I should do a marathon?
Which brings me onto my next point, why is no-one commenting, I know of at least five people who follow this, and yet no body comments!

Update

Sorry, didn’t mean to leave this alone for so long.

Watching Thunderball. First time I’ve watched a Bond flick in a few months. Might end up watching them all again. You know me?
Back from Sligo a while now. Good time, got two CDs and a book on Drumming too. Bought it with the money Breda gave me for showing her how to download podcasts.
Now I said in my introductory post about telling you good people how I’m doing on the drums. I realize now I’ve been letting you down.
Being away from home (and therefore, the drums) I haven’t played since Wednesday, but with my new drum book, I can now do the beat I’ve been playing in my head for ages. The one from Valerie by Amy Winehouse.

Got back into drumming to music again too, (as opposed to just rhythms). Had forgotten how fun it was. Especially with the noise cancelling earphones. Ya’see, with the snare drum, they rattle for a few seconds after you hit the drum, and this can be awfully offputting when trying to maintain a beat. But with the ‘phones, those rattles are eliminated by the noise cancelling part.

Just back from physio.

Last few days have been a complete doss!! Religion for an hour and a half, music for another hour and a half, real work for the rest of school it’s brilliant! And of course religion’s gonna be getting bigger and bigger the closer we get to that big day….May 22nd!
Drumming with headphones is the best thing that’s happened to me since…ever. When you hit the drums, the snares rattle after you’ve moved on so they interfere with the general beat and confuse you, but with the ‘phones that’s completely eliminated so you get a nice, crisp, clear sound. Also, the noise is concentrated where it should be, your ears, so there’s no straining your ears or going off beat.
I know I’ve always maintained a “with rhythms, you use all drums, with beats you use the bass, snare and hi-hat” stance but now I’m trying to integrate the two, using all drums for beats. It’s going well.
Thinking of what books to get next time I’m in town.
* The Shining

* Salem’s Lot

* The Twilight Zone

Currently reading 21: Bringing down the house. Tis good

I <3 drumming

Title really says it all, donit?

Spent most of today drumming, first time I’d drummed to music in a while. Quite fun :)
My laptop’s in Front Row, and is connected to the big stereo, which my headphones are connected to. Good fun.
John’s back from San Fran tomorrow. Ugh, tomorrow, tomorrow means school.
Also decided to get back into Stephen King, I started on him last summer with Pet Semetary {sic}. I’ve asked around and someone said Salem’s Lot, so I’ll try that. Una suggested The Shining for it’s pure scariness, so that’s on the list too ; )
John Simm is a brilliant actor, I’ve just realised. He’s scary, cool, menacing and funny all at once.

Just back from the Wild Onion, Americans make killer breakfasts. : )

On the way back, started messing with the Sat-Nav’s speaking language settings. They have about 15, from English, to French, Russian or even Norse. Funny thing is that one of the choices is “American English”. So I put it on, wondering aloud to Dad if any of the difference between American English and proper English would affect the Sat-Nav. Apparently not, but, funnier still, there’s an American woman’s voice telling you to “turn….left…in….200…metres”. As in, I can understand Chinese, or Italian needing a different voice, but American? : /
Doctor Who again tonight, if I make it, it’ll be the first time I ever watched it without my whovian cousins on a TV. I’ve either watched them _all_ on the interwebs, or on DVD. I watched Fires of Pompeii last week but I wasn’t alone…
Anyways, gonna take advantage of an empty house to go drumming.
Caoi!

In roughly two months’ time, I’ll have a Cocker Spaniel. Woot!!

A girl in school’s dog is pregnant, so give it nine months and I’ll be a dog owner.

Monday

Tag: UncategorizedTommy @ 3:46 pm

Yeah, I know, I didn’t update yesterday, so shoot me.

Suppose I should start at the beginning,
Sunday
woke up, wondered how I would turn my laptop on without waking cousins lying asleep two and four feet to my right. Saw I didn’t need to worry when I realised both were wide awake.
Went to mass, fact I’d forgotten my reading didn’t matter, as legend teacher saves the day by producing one (almost) out of thin air. What happened next Mum calls “me going up there and kicking the priest off the alter and doing the mass” and what I call “me going up there, saying my reading, and sitting back down again”
Came home, filled next few hours with dodgeball on the trampoline and Forza motorsport 2 on the 360
Cousins went home, did work with Mum for 45 minutes.
Brian arrived and we tried to have an MPG in Call of Duty 2, my laptop didn’t work :(
Bed,
Monday
Woke up, really tired, got up, went to school blah blah blah
Came out, went to dentist, got my teeth cleaned, went home.
Now going to go see what Brian’s up to, and if he wants to play CoD

Doctor Who :: Fires of Pompeii

Tag: UncategorizedTommy @ 6:50 pm

Neat episode, not sure if I like Donna’s character, she’s a bit cocky for me, (whoa that felt weird to type) I mean, she’s likable enough, but Catherine Tate steals the action from David Tennant, (the Doctor) who should be getting the attention. Casting Tate wasn’t a good idea I don’t think. Piper and Agyeman, Tennant’s previous companions, were relatively unknown actresses when they took on Doctor Who. People would sit down and watch them, and say, “Who’s she?”, where’s with Tate, everyone knows her.

(Barrowman is an exception to above rule, as his forte leaned more towards musical theatre, or, rather, theatre of any sort ; )    )
In other news, still haven’t organized another drum lesson : (

Before I continue, I’d like to point out that with Friday’s post, I passed J’s estimate that this blog “will go for three posts and then you’ll get bored of blogging”

Just sitting with Pa and Liv in the kitchen, just after making pancakes and earning the title of “official cook for Auctomatic” (which, I hasten to add, P gave away with suspicious indifference)
P and Liv are watching House, it’s quite funny. Looking over their shoulder every couple of minutes. House just took out a 25 foot tape worm, looked at it disdainfully and announced sadly “Damn it, the world record is 60″. Now, I don’t wanna be a doctor, but that guy is seriously cool!
Me and Liv had a fun time this morning making pancakes, (we made another couple for P) and Crackers got her “weekly bout of attention” (the cheek!) as me and Liv talked about stuff, everything really, from what we thought was our best holidays, to fantasizing about who’d get on best with Liv from my class.
P also made me a bureaucrat on Bondpedia, now every time I want to make a user an admin, I don’t have to go groveling to P, and (even better), the user will get promoted within the week.
No real plans for the day. Moma will be back sometime in the afternoon, wait, whoa, just looked at the clock, it’s 1:30!! There was I planning a huge party and…I wrote that when I meant to think that didn’t I? Bugger.
J is seriously pissed that he didn’t get to drive an Audi TT, he had to settle to kicking the tires of some Land Rover. The shame.
Between me, Liv, and Liv’s phone, I also found out that if P spent all his money, he could afford 33,333 drum lessons, or, a drum lesson a day for the next 91 years. Then by that time, I’d be such a world class drummer, and could pay Patrick back, (plus a little extra for believing in me)

Friday

Tag: UncategorizedTommy @ 5:49 pm

Hooray! Friday is here!!!

My copy of Anything Goes  by John Barrowman arrived in O’Mahoney’s yesterday, that’s probably one of the reasons I didn’t post yesterday. I was too engrossed. : )
It’s a really entertaining read. He tells his story in a very funny and there are plenty of real laugh-out-loud moments.
Really looking forward to the weekend. First Saturday since October at least that I don’t have to get up for CentreStage. It’ll be awesome..
Just back from the pool. 50 lengths of a twenty metre pool is 100 lengths of a 10 metre pool, and therefore 20 lengths of a 50 meter pool…does that work out?
